Our History

During the early years the company name was changed to The Roman Art Embroidery Corp. They developed many clients in the sporting goods manufacturing industry and became a major source of embroidered logos for the uniforms of the professional sports teams.

In the very early 50's the company developed inroads into the "computerized" embroidery industry. Originally jacquard driven Gross embroidery machines and their first punching machine "#3". #1 and #2 were being run by the Gross Company. During those years the company supplied many of the regional manufacturers of golf shirts and sportswear.

In the mid 50's the company purchased the only schiffli embroidery looms in New England. Three 10-yard looms. The company created new patterns on pantograph punching machines creating jacquards for the looms. During the mid 60's the additional looms and punching centers were making lace, fashion fabrics, sports emblems, police and fire department emblems and much more.

In the early 70's one of our best clients in the headwear industry was closing its doors. It was decided that the company should start manufacturing baseball caps. Roman Pro was created. Our cap embroidery was revered by Pro sports teams and high profile clients like Auto Body Express, Spike Lee's 40 Acres & a Mule Company, as well as police and FBI clients throughout the USA.

In the late 90's we decided to further develop the custom digitizing and embroidery division. Apparel 2000 LLC was created. We currently have the most sophisticated embroidery digitizing equipment and offer master embroidery techniques from our varied history.
